I have been debating on which exam to do next over these past few days. The 2 exam choices I have are Implementing Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008 or Basic Administration for XenApp 6. I have had a look at the resources that are available for both exams and there is virtually next to nothing available for XenApp 6 other than the Citrix edocs. For the XenApp 5 there is a CBT, few books and good citrix documentation. So based on those decisions I have decided to go down the XenApp 5 route. If decent resources come out whilst i am doing the XenApp 5 study i may switch but we shall see.
I am quite looking forward to doing this as its something completely new to me. I have about 6 months experience with Presentation Server 4.5 but that’s about it Citrix wise for me.
Study time i am expecting to be studying for anytime between 1-3 months, it all depends on how quickly I can get through the material and of course work commitments. Would be good to get it out of the way before the end of this year.
The exam content is:
- Understanding the Citrix Architecture
- Licensing and Installing Citrix XenApp
- Installing and Configuring Web Interface
- Configuring ICA Sessions
- Managing Applications
- Managing Citrix XenApp Policies
- Managing and Maintaining the Server and Farm
- Configuring Printing
- Troubleshooting Citrix XenApp
So hopefully soon I shall be a CCA for Citrix XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008
